Can Brinks (House Alarm) alarm systems be monitored by another company?
Great questions! Brink's was renamed as Broadview, but that did not help - they still had very outdated technology, despite a very high service level, and were recently sold to ADT. Brink's equipment has traditionally been extremely difficult to transition to another company, and there was generally little reason to do so: hard-wired sensors, land line monitoring, etc. - a real dinosaur. The features and functionality you want are available from other providers today: special apps, remote arming/disarming, text and email notifications on all events, video services, even "smart home" for lighting and thermostat control. That being said, you really do want a monitored system, not just for intrusion, but for fire as well - and the fire monitoring should not cost extra. These systems and features are available at a minimal investment, and some are even DIY. Shop well, pay attention to the reputations of the companies you compare, and move up to the best of what you can get today: safer, smarter, simpler, and affordable. It is all there for the asking.
