How can I get my new puppy to sleep at night?

I used a kennel crate. My puppy cried for a while and then went to sleep. I had her in the bedroom. The first month was rough because she woke up and needed to go out to pee about twice a night. I was so tired I almost gave her away. My older dog would not let her by him until she was older. Do not pick the dog up when it whines or you will be teaching the dog to whine.
