Why does my boyfriend only shows he loves me in text messages?

Me and my bf always text eachother all the time and we said how we miss eachother and he said how he's gonna give me a big huge hug when he sees me but the next day we went to the movies it was me him and one of my friends (a girl) and we were wanting for him to come and finally he did... all he did was say hey with a smile and I was just like hi :) but really I wanted to take my foot and Hugh! Why didn't he hug me? It really bothered me but I didn't say anything because he acted like nothing happened! I'm very upset :'( idk why he didn't hug me and after the movie he left and just said bye u guys and waved aahhh! He didn't hug me or say I love u and I wanna mention that he always says I love u (in his text messages) huh! By the way we have been going out for 6 months now ;,(
