Accounting Profession Questions - Related to Interview...?
well if you work in the accounts receivable department, you will deal with the customers of the business who purchase the good or service on account (credit). Thus, you will deal with billing, receiving payments, managing customer accounts, and creating new ways to encourage a better accounts receivable turn over ration and new ways to help limit and prevent fraud. The accounts payable department is just the opposite. You will be dealing with the vendors from which the company buys goods or services from. You will deal with bills, sending payments, managing vendor accounts, and manage all of the payable liabilities. For both of these depts, i would say one needs to be creative, social, determined, and trustworthy. The payroll and taxes dept deal with generating employee paychecks, and how much of each tax is withheld. This dept also remits the taxes to the local, state, and federal governments. This department is solely based around "number crunching." One must be extremely accurate and trustworthy and can lack a little creativity.
