Why do broadcasters need to ALWAYS make comparisons when it comes to sports?Especially women sports..?

You know what really bugs me is not so much comparisons but wrong names. Bob Cole is horrible. He is renown for blurting out names of players long retired, and the CBC finally took him off the main broadcasts. Don't get me wrong, I respect what the man has done, but when he makes references to Wendel Clark with the puck while watching a Leafs game it drives me nuts. And his lack of knowledge for non-Toronto teams drives me nuts as well: "Great save by the ...Ottawa...goaltender..."
